PARTICIPATION IN SMM HAMBURG 2024: REINFORCING THE RIGHT PATH

SafeNav had a strong presence at SMM Hamburg 2024, the most influential global event for the maritime industry. Our CEO, Jorgen Grindevoll, attended the Autonomous Shipping Summit organized by the European Commission and the privately organized SMM Maritime Conference, where key topics such as the current state and challenges of ship navigation, autonomous vessels were presented and discussed. Below are some of the key highlights:

  1. Autonomous navigation and safety: Although the industry continues to advance toward full autonomy, technical and economic challenges remain. The importance of enhancing Safety of Navigation today was emphasized, which strengthens our vision and mission at SafeNav. We are aiming for the MVP for MASS Level 1 system, and this is fully aligned with the vision.

  2. Cybersecurity in the maritime sector: A recurring theme at the conference was the increasing concern about cybersecurity. SafeNav has the opportunity to stand out by developing innovative security solutions focused on post-quantum protection, surpassing current standards.

  3. Investment opportunities: A clear opportunity was identified to attract private investment, which would allow SafeNav to accelerate the development and commercialization of its Decision Support System (DSS), significantly impacting the market over the next five years.

  4. Decarbonization and sustainability: Decarbonization dominated the discussions, with an emphasis on new fuels and green technologies. SafeNav has the chance to position itself as a key player in maritime sustainability, linking its navigation proposals to the global carbon emission reduction goals

THIS EVENT NOT ONLY REAFFIRMED THAT SAFENAV IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK, BUT ALSO REVEALED NEW OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES THAT WILL HELP US FINE-TUNE OUR STRATEGY TO CONTINUE OUR AIM TO LEAD THIS NEW NAVIGATION TECHNOLOGY TO ENHANCE SAFER NAVIGATIONA SEA TODAY AND IN THE FUTURE
