In February, the SafeNav Project Team geared up to take part in BlueInvest Day in Brussels, a prime event focused on marine innovation and sustainability. They anticipated engaging in key discussions about the on-going advancements in the maritime industry.
Meanwhile, an abstract by Offshore Monitoring Limited (OSM) was accepted by the prestigious International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IEEE IGARSS 2024) titled "Near-Real-Time EO Data Assimilation for Ocean Currents”. Additionally, the team celebrated the successful submission of Deliverable (D4.3 Mathematical framework for the obstacle avoidance problem), marking another milestone within the Project.
The ambition of the three-year maritime project is to develop and test a highly innovative Collision Prevention Solution that will significantly reduce the probability of collisions and groundings, thereby enhancing safer navigation at sea for an existing and new generation of vessels that aim for remote operation or autonomously in the future.
